Based upon extensive personal experience by Tom Campbell as described in his trilogy '''''My Big TOE''''', we would not agree to this characterization.  OOBE as experienced by Tom Campbell, Robert Monroe and many others represents the connection, while still remaining a participant in the [[PMR]] [[Virtual Reality]], to the data stream representing another [[VR]] such as [[NPMR]] which is then subjectively interpreted, as filtered through the [[PMR]] [[Rule Set]].  It is neither paranormal experience nor hallucination and is well understood here.

Based upon extensive personal experience by Tom Campbell as described in his trilogy My Big TOE, we would not agree to this characterization. OOBE as experienced by Tom Campbell, Robert Monroe and many others represents the connection, while still remaining a participant in the PMR Virtual Reality, to the data stream representing another VR such as NPMR which is then subjectively interpreted, as filtered through the PMR Rule Set. It is neither paranormal experience nor hallucination and is well understood here.
