To Quicken something is to make it alive, to cause it to be alive. Insight might be gained from its use to refer to the stage of human gestation when a fetus first reaches the state that movement of the fetus can be felt. Thus in our metaphysical usage, it refers to the point when the Void of mystical perception ceases to be timeless and empty and becomes first 'alive' at the beginning of time and veritably all existence as the Plenum.
